Crawfish Trap Gabion
New Orleans, LA . Summer 2010
Abigail Feldman

Vernacular landscape materials at their best. These crawfish traps are produced by local Vietnamese immigrants and used by fisherman around the Gulf Coast. I instantly knew they had to be tranformed into gabions when I saw them. Stacked up or side by side they can also be made into site furniture. This is a first pass at filling one with salvaged concrete bits from a busted up driveway.
